Logging In To Your Customer Portal

To log in to your customer portal, navigate to the URL provided by your Tailwind broker/carrier and enter the login information you have been provided.

Quotes and Shipments

Once you have logged in, you can use the Customer Portal to view any Quotes or Shipments currently active on your account. The default view is the Shipment list, which shows all the loads your broker/carrier is moving on your behalf. Depending on how many items are active, you may want to search the list to locate the item you’re interested in.

You can view more details on a particular Shipment by clicking on the

Next to the Shipment, you want to see. This will bring up the Order associated with that Shipment.

Updating Quote/Shipment Details

The Customer Portal also allows you to update a Quote or Shipment by adding your Customer Reference number – this would be whatever number you use internally to refer to that particular load so that you can easily communicate with your broker or carrier about the Quote or Shipment in question. You can also specify whether or not you require a POD or other documentation upon completion of the delivery.
You also have the option of adding a Note to the item. To do so, navigate to the ‘Notes’ tab and click on ‘add Note.’ Any notes you add will be visible to your broker or carrier and can be useful for communicating additional details about the Shipment or even proposing possible adjustments to a Quote.

Request a Quote

You can also use the portal to request a quote on a possible shipment. Navigate to the Quotes list and click the ‘Request Quote’ button at the top of the page.

This will bring up the Request Quote page, where you can enter details on the Shipment you would like to see quoted. Next, enter the pick-up and destination Locations in the Shipment Location tab. You can either select an Existing Location from the drop-down menu or enter a new, free-form Location if it is not already in the system.

Next, click on the ‘Shipment Details’ tab to add details about the Shipment itself, including the desired Pick-up and Delivery dates.

Once you have entered all the relevant information, click on the ‘Create’ button to submit the Quote request.

Place an Order

If you have already agreed to the terms and conditions of a shipment with your broker or carrier, you can use the portal to Place an Order directly into the system. To do so, click on the ‘Place an Order button at the top of the Shipment page.

Once you have filled out the essential details, click on the ‘Add Shipment’ button to add details about the load itself to the order. Shipment details are essentially the same details as with a Quote above. However, unlike in a Quote, you can add multiple Shipments to a single Order request. These could represent distinct goods being moved to and from the same location. Alternately, multiple Shipments can be used to represent a single pick-up that is being delivered to multiple locations, or multiple pick-ups that are all being delivered to the same place.

Balance Details

The Balance Details view shows the details of your current balance, including any outstanding or upcoming payments by Order/Invoice #. Orders are sorted by their payment status: those that are not yet delivered or invoiced appear in the ‘Pending’ column, while invoiced Orders are sorted into columns based on the number of days since they were invoiced.

Transaction History

The Transaction History list lets you review the details of all the Invoices you have received and their corresponding Shipment details. You can <<search the list>> for a particular Invoice or view more details about the Invoice by clicking on the

Next to the item in question.
