The Bring Your Own Plan (BYOP) option only appears on your dashboard when you're eligible to submit or manage your own health insurance plan for reimbursement.

If you don't see the BYOP option, it usually means you already have an existing recurring premium request that needs to be completed, reviewed, or resolved before you can start a new one.

What is the BYOP option?

The BYOP option allows you to use your own qualifying individual health insurance plan with your employer's reimbursement benefit.

When the option is available, you can:

  • Submit your health insurance information.

  • Upload proof of coverage, if required.

  • Submit your recurring premium for reimbursement.

The dashboard is designed to show this option only when it's the correct next step for your account.

When will the BYOP option be hidden?

The BYOP option is hidden if you already have a primary recurring premium for the current plan year in one of these statuses:

  • Approved – Your recurring premium has already been accepted.

  • Pending – Your submission is currently being reviewed.

  • Declined – Your submission needs to be corrected or resubmitted.

These statuses prevent duplicate submissions and ensure you continue with your existing request instead of creating a new one.

When will the BYOP option appear?

You'll see the BYOP option when:

  • You're eligible to submit a recurring premium.

  • You do not have a primary recurring premium in a blocking status.

  • All other eligibility requirements have been met.

The BYOP option is hidden

Your primary recurring premium determines whether the BYOP option is shown.

What is a primary recurring premium?

You may have multiple recurring premium records, but the dashboard looks at your primary recurring premium for the current plan year when deciding whether to display the BYOP option.

If that primary record is Approved, Pending, or Declined, the BYOP option will remain hidden.

Why is my BYOP option missing?

The most common reason is that the system found a primary recurring premium for the current plan year that is already in one of these statuses:

  • Approved

  • Pending

  • Declined

Hiding the BYOP option helps prevent:

  • Duplicate submissions

  • Conflicting requests

  • Confusion about which request is active

What should I do next?

  • Pending: Wait while your submission is reviewed. We'll let you know if more information is needed.

  • Approved: Your recurring premium has already been established for the current plan year.

  • Declined: Review any feedback you received and resubmit your existing request if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why don't I see the BYOP option?

The most common reason is that you already have a primary recurring premium for the current plan year in Approved, Pending, or Declined status.

Why does a declined recurring premium hide the BYOP option?

A declined recurring premium is still considered an active request. Hiding the BYOP option helps ensure you correct or resubmit that request instead of creating a duplicate.

What if I have more than one recurring premium record?

The dashboard always checks your primary recurring premium for the current plan year. If that record is in a blocking status, the BYOP option won't appear.

Summary

The BYOP option is only shown when you're eligible to submit a new recurring premium. If you already have a primary recurring premium for the current plan year in Approved, Pending, or Declined status, the option will be hidden until that request has been completed or resolved.
