Quality Assurance (QA)

Introduction

This involves checking the work of another analyst to ensure there are no errors, and making edits any time you spot a mistake.

How to complete Quality Assurance

Step 1: Open the Game in the Editor

When you open a game assigned to you for quality control, you will see a corrections box at the bottom of the screen. This is where you will log all of your QA notes and fixes.

Step 2: Log Your Corrections

Before making any fix, you need to document what you are changing and why. To do this:

  1. Double-click anywhere in the corrections box at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Type in the reason you are making a fix. Be as detailed as possible.

For example: "Was entered as a positive carry. It is really negative."

Tip: The more detail you add to your correction notes, the easier it will be for the data entry analyst to understand the change you have made. Detailed notes mean they are far less likely to dispute your correction.

Step 3: Make the Fix

Once you have logged the reason in the corrections box, go ahead and fix the code in the editor (e.g. changing the event type, adjusting a player, correcting a timestamp, etc.).

Step 4: Be Certain Before You Change Anything

Any changes you make during QA are sent directly to the original data entry analyst for them to review. Only make corrections when you are confident they are accurate.

Tip: If you make incorrect changes, you risk being paid less. Only correct something if you are sure it is wrong.

Step 5: Complete the QA Task

Once you have finished entering all of your corrections, come back to the main screen and click Complete. That is all you need to do.
