Help a Parent Rejoin a Class

If a family member wishes to resume receiving TalkingPoints messages after unsubscribing, follow these steps to help them opt back in.

If a family member has unsubscribed from TalkingPoints, you will see an orange "Unsubscribed" tag next to the family member's name. Here are the steps to help parents who have unsubscribed from receiving your messages rejoin your class. 

Log in to the web portal at app.talkingpts.org

Step 1: Click on your class to see the student list

Step 2: Find the student of the parent who unsubscribed. Hover your mouse over the icon that says "Unsubscribed" (do not click, only hover!). It will show you the phone number to which the parent needs to text REJOIN in order to sign up to receive messages from you again. 


Step 3: Share this phone number with your parent and ask them to text REJOIN. Once the parent texts 'rejoin' to this number, the status icon will change from "Unsubscribed" back to "SMS."

If a family member is trying to use the TalkingPoints Parents app on a new phone please make sure they first log off their old device before changing devices.
