SMS text vs. Family App Messages

The TalkingPoints for Families app is optional. See the difference between SMS texts and in-app messages.

TalkingPoints sends messages either via SMS/Text or In-App. If families have downloaded the TalkingPoints for Families App, they will get in-app messages. If they have not downloaded the app, they will receive text messages.

Please note: Although TalkingPoints for Families app is optional, standard text messaging fees apply for families who are receiving messages as texts.


When you open up a class and view your class list of students, you can see who is receiving messages in the 'FAMILY APP' and who is receiving 'SMS.'
