Congratulations, after you took the initiative to start using TalkingPoints with your families for more effective communication, your school or district has recognized it as a valuable tool and purchased the upgraded platform! This means a few exciting things for you:

  1. You are no longer limited to 200 students and 5 classes!

  2. Your class rosters will be provided for you!

  3. You can log in at the touch of a button using Clever or ClassLink!

  4. You can now see what messages your school sends out so that you don't send duplicates!

  5. All of your colleagues now also have access to this great resource!

But, it may also mean some slight changes in your TalkingPoints account, so here's what you should be aware of:

  1. Your school is rostering through Clever or ClassLink, so you won't be able to make edits to your class roster. Any edits will need to be made directly in your Student Information System (SIS). (Note: You can still create subgroups of students from the rosters that are given to you!)

  2. If you are an ELL/ELD or Special Education teacher who isn't typically rostered through your SIS, you'll have to ask your administrator to create a class for you, or give you access to students.

    1. For information regarding the different permission levels available in TalkingPoints, please see this article.

We thank you for being such an amazing advocate for TalkingPoints to your school and district, and we hope that TalkingPoints continues to be a useful resource for your family engagement!
