The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is a federal law meant to protect children under the age of 13 from having their personal information being collected and used by internet services and websites.

TalkingPoints has taken certain steps in order to comply with this law.

First, section 1.A. of our Terms of Service states that messaging anyone under the age of 13 without consent from their legal guardian is prohibited. See below for the complete clause. 👇

By accessing or using TalkingPoints, you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Terms of Service Agreement, including the above section.

Because the safety and privacy of children are of the utmost importance to us, we've added an additional check box to both apps so users specifically consent to the requirement.
