When a teacher shares a class with a co-teacher, they will have access to parents' contact information and can start messaging parents right away. However, it is important to view message history for context about families. This is helpful for collaborating on parent communication. Here are two ways to view communications as a teacher who has just joined a class:

Message Thread:

View messages by selecting a student from your message history.

  1. If you already have initiated a message thread with a parent, you can simply open the message.

2. Click the 3 dots in the upper righthand corner and select "View chat as."

3. Select the creator of the class.

4. View the chat as the creator of the class.

Class List:

In the case that you haven't started a message thread with a parent, you can view messages by selecting a student from the appropriate class list.

  1. Go to "Classes" and select a student to view messages from.

    2. Click the 3 dots in the upper righthand corner and select "View chat as."

    3. Select the creator of the class.

    4. View the chat as the creator of the class.
