☑️ Automatic "Normal findings"

Updated over a month ago

The “Normal findings” feature streamlines documentation by automatically inserting a predefined phrase when Tandem interprets that you've indicated a finding is normal or without any specific remarks. This reduces repetitive writing and ensures consistent language across notes.

How does it work?

When Tandem interprets a finding as normal—indicating there’s no abnormality or cause for concern, a predefined phrase is automatically inserted at the appropriate place in your note.

ⓘ Inserted “Normal findings” phrases are highlighted with a dotted underline, so you can easily spot and edit them in your note, like below:

How does Tandem decide when to insert a "Normal findings" phrase?

Tandem uses contextual understanding to determine when a finding meets the criteria for normal findings.

For example, if you say “Your heart sounds normal” or “Heart without concerns,” Tandem will understand from the context that a normal findings phrase should be inserted.

Example:
If you mention during the consultation that heart sounds are normal and there’s nothing to note, Tandem will insert:

“Regular rhythm, no audible murmurs or bruits.”

Can I customise what’s inserted?

Yes. While you cannot switch this feature off, you can customise the phrase that is inserted for any given finding.

Option 1: Edit Directly in the Note

You can edit the phrase at the moment it appears:

  1. Hover over the inserted "Normal findings" phrase in the note

  2. Click the (...) icon and select “Edit phrase”.

  3. Make your changes and save — the phrase will be updated for future use under for that finding.

Option 2: Edit from Settings

You can also manage all your “Normal findings” phrases in one place:

  1. Go to Settings > Normal findings. Here you’ll see an overview of all your "Normal findings" phrases.

  2. Click the (...) icon and select "Edit phrase" to open up a windows where you can change the phrase and save it.

Your customised phrase will then be used whenever Tandem inserts a "Normal findings" statement for that finding.
