Coloring Events in Tandem
Tandem gives you three options for color-coding events on your calendar. Color coding makes it easier for staff, students, and the community to quickly recognize event categories at a glance.
Color-Coding Options
By School
Useful for districts or schools that separate events by grade level or building (e.g., High School, Middle School, Elementary).
By Department Tag
Useful for organizations that want events colored based on the department they’re tagged with (e.g., Athletics, Music, Administration).
By Event Type Tag
Useful for organizations that want events colored by type (e.g., Games, Practices, Meetings, Performances).
How to Set Up Event Coloring
Go to My Organization > Calendar Customization > Logo, Color & Settings.
Scroll to Color code the calendar views.
Select your preferred option (By School, By Department Tag, or By Event Type Tag).
Navigate to the section you chose to edit the colors:
By School: Go to My Organization > Groups, select a school, and click the pencil icon to edit. You’ll find a new color field to assign a color to that school’s events.
By Department Tag or Event Type Tag: Go to My Organization > Types & Tags, and use the color field in the editor.
Don't forget to click the Edit button at the bottom to save.
Tips for Choosing Colors
The event name font is black. For readability, select lighter shades of color by adjusting the bar on the right in the color selector.
