Managing Calendar Pages in Tandem

Your community requires quick access to the schedules they care about. Tandem makes it easy to create Calendar Pages that can be shared publicly or embedded into your website.

Pages can be completely customized using facilities, groups, equipment, and tags, so every audience—parents, students, staff, or the wider community—can view the schedules most relevant to them.

Followers of a Page automatically receive updates by email or text when events are added, changed, or canceled. This makes Pages especially powerful for events that may shift due to weather or other last-minute changes.

Pages can also be customized with different layouts, colors, and images to match your branding. And for teams with technical expertise, data feeds from Pages can be exported and integrated into other websites and displays.

Why Adding Pages is Important

By creating Pages in Tandem:

  • Your community has one central place to view curated schedules.

  • Event updates, cancellations, and changes are instantly communicated to subscribers.

  • You can filter event schedules down to exactly what matters (e.g., Varsity Soccer, Gymnasium Events, Spring 2024 Season).

How to Start Adding Pages

When setting up a new Page, you’ll define the following fields:

  • Featured Image – Optional image shown at the top of the page.

  • Name – A descriptive name for the Page (e.g., HS Varsity Soccer Schedule).

  • Description – Context for viewers so they know what the Page covers.

  • Page Status – Toggle the page on or off for viewers.

  • Private – Restrict the Page to private viewers only.

Next, use the Filter Section to narrow which events are displayed:

  • Locations – Create Pages tied to a facility (e.g., Gymnasium Events).

  • Groups – Create Pages tied to specific groups (e.g., Varsity Soccer).

  • Equipment or Tags – Filter by equipment usage or event tags (e.g., All Rentals).

  • Status – Choose to include/exclude Active, Canceled, Tentative, or Private events. (Private events should only be included if the Page itself is Private.)

  • Key Dates – Include holidays or other important dates.

  • Date Range & Times – Narrow results to specific seasons or time windows (e.g., Spring 2024 or After-School Events).

Page Display Options

You can choose how events appear on your Page:

  • Calendar List – A scrolling monthly calendar.

  • Custom List – Select and arrange the fields you want displayed (most fields are available).

  • Full Calendar – A single month-at-a-time calendar that users can navigate.

  • Simple List – A preformatted list of events.

  • Yearly Calendar – A special view designed for annual overviews.

Start a page and experiment to find what works best for your audience.
