This guide explains how to check if you already have a feed, create one using a Google Shopping or Merchant Feed extension, and fix common issues like invalid formats, missing product data, or incorrect URLs.

To advertise your products, we need your product XML feed in Google Shopping format. OpenCart does not generate this feed by default, but you can easily create one using available extensions. Here’s how to check if you already have one, or how to generate and upload it into our app.


1. Do you already have a product XML feed?

A product XML feed is a file containing your product details (name, price, stock availability, images, etc.).

Before creating a new feed, check if you already generated one with an extension. If you already have a feed, simply copy the feed URL and paste it into our app — no need to create a new one.

How to check if you already have a feed:

  1. Log in to your OpenCart admin.

  2. In the left menu, go to Extensions → Extensions.

  3. In the dropdown at the top, select Feeds.

  4. Check if you have any feed extensions installed.

  5. If you do, click Edit to see if a feed is already generated.

    • If yes → copy the feed URL and paste it into our app.

👉 If you don’t have any feed extension installed, follow the steps below to create one.


2. How to create a product XML feed?

Step 1 – Install an extension for feed generation

  1. In the left menu, go to Extensions → Marketplace.

  2. Search for “Google Shopping” or “Google Merchant Feed”.

  3. Choose a suitable extension, click Download, and then Install.

Step 2 – Generate the feed

  1. In the left menu, go back to Extensions → Extensions.

  2. In the dropdown, select Feeds again.

  3. Find the extension you just installed and click Edit.

  4. Fill out the necessary settings to generate your feed.

  5. Make sure the feed format is XML and compatible with Google Shopping.

  6. Once generated, you should get a feed URL like this:
    https://www.myshop.com/index.php?route=extension/feed/google_base

3. Uploading the feed URL to the Tanganica app

  1. Copy the feed URL.

  2. Paste it into the designated field in our app.

  3. Confirm.

✅ Done! If the feed is valid and correctly formatted, your products will start syncing into the app.


4. What if you get an error?

  • Wrong format → Feed must be XML, not CSV or JSON.

  • Invalid data → Some fields may be missing or incorrect (e.g., missing prices or categories).

  • Invalid URL → Try opening the feed in your browser. If it doesn’t display XML, check the extension settings.
