How to Enter Scores on Your Phone

  • Tap the Pencil Icon

    • This brings up the score entry page for the current hole.

  • Enter Your Score

    • Number of strokes to complete the hole.

    • Great/Good: Solid drive in fairway.

    • OK: Missed fairway but still a playable shot.

    • Recovery: Trouble—trees, plugged lie, blocked, etc.

    • Penalty: If your drive resulted in a penalty.

    • Increase the count to match the number of penalties on the hole (regardless of shot number).

  • First Putt Distance
Pick one of the following categories:

    • Tap-in: Inside 3 feet.

    • Short: Around 3–7 feet.

    • Medium: 7–25 feet.

    • Long: 30–50 feet.

    • Very Long: 50+ feet.

  • Track Shots

    • Enable this to allow Tangent to detect and log each shot for you.

    • Leave it off for a basic scorecard experience.

  • Other Options

    • Reset: Clears the score (if you made a mistake).

    • Pickup: Records a net double bogey and skips shot tracking.

    • Tangent shows estimated data based on past performance.

    • Tap the fairway direction to manually select Left/Right/Fairway if needed.

  • Green in Regulation (GIR)

    • Auto-calculated. If it looks wrong, double-check your score and putts.

  • Two-Chip Option

    • Toggle this if it took more than one shot inside 50 yards to reach the green.

    • Tangent may auto-toggle this based on your score.

  • Hit Save

    • If penalties were added, Tangent will ask which shot had the penalty after hitting the save button.

  • Shot Tracking (If Enabled)

    • You’ll automatically move to the shot tracking screen after saving.

    • This feature is optional and covered in a separate tutorial.
