Connecting Tangent to a Launch Monitor

Tangent Golf can now be connected to launch monitor data for live drills on the mobile or webapp.

Written by Dallas Webster

If you own a compatible launch monitor, Tangent now supports a direct link that allows launch monitor data to be fed directly to Tangent and digested by the iOS or webapp in real time.

Connecting your launch monitor directly does require using a connective layer that runs on your PC using third party software such as rēlā* or by using our data API.

To get your token, you will look for a button in the mobile app in the drill setup or drill view with the following icon:

The token that is generated gives compatible 3rd part software the ability to use our data API to write your launch monitor data to your account.

The webapp and the mobile app will live listen for new shots in realtime once properly connected. Tangent ingests your LM data and can use it to help give you more personalized and more impactful insights.

As always, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out at help@tangent.golf

If your launch monitor is not supported by 3rd party tools like rēlā, Tangent supports csv import of a wide range of launch monitors. Again, don't hesitate to reach out to help@tangent.golf to discover what is supported with your launch monitor.

About third-party connectors

Tangent's data ingestion API is open to third-party tools, which means software like rēlā can write launch monitor data into your account. These tools are separate products that Tangent Golf does not build, operate, or control.

  • Availability and support. Whether a connector exists, which launch monitors it supports, what it costs, and whether it keeps working are decisions made by its developer, not by Tangent. Support is not guaranteed and may end at any time.

  • Their terms apply. Third-party software has its own terms of service and privacy policy. Review them before installing.

  • Your token is a credential. The token generated in the app grants write access to your Tangent account. Only share it with software you trust, don't post it publicly, and revoke it if you stop using a tool or suspect it's been exposed.

  • Data accuracy. Tangent stores and analyzes the shot data it receives. Accuracy depends on your launch monitor and the connector delivering it — we can't validate data we didn't capture.

  • Getting help. For questions about the connector itself, contact its developer. For questions about how Tangent handles data once it arrives, email help@tangent.golf.
