The GPS screen of Tangent Golf is likely where you'll spend a good portion of your time, so it helps to be familiar with it's operation and how it works. Let's cover the basics.
โ€‹

Above is the menu bar at the bottom. Each gray area is a button as described above.

Above shows how to interpret the other buttons on the screen. Tapping the elevation button will also change the perspective of the hole.

Above shows the other elements on the screen and what they are.

Tapping anywhere on the screen will bring up the 'Target' indicator to give distances to any location on the golf course. The target can be long pressed and dragged to really dial in distances to a bunker or tree or layup point. When long pressing the target, the screen will shift and you will get slight haptic feedback indicating you are ready to drag the marker to the desired location to get a distance.

The yellow arcs represent your dispersion with the suggested club. You need at least that much width to safely hit that club at the selected target.

The Caddie suggested club will be highlighted in yellow. All other clubs will show in white.

Caddie suggested distances take in realtime weather, elevation, your golf history (distances and dispersions) and golf course information (location of hazards, fairway, rough) to intelligently adjust yardages for 'Plays like' distances. Club suggestions are based on your bag setup that can be modified from the menu or home screen.

As you play, Tangent Golf is tracking your location and using available sensors to predict where you are hitting golf shots. This information is used to turn scores into shots to do advanced analytics on your golf game and help you improve. Below shows how to digest the tracking information you will see on the screen.

When you are done with a hole, you can enter your score on the phone by hitting the score button or from your watch. Tangent Golf will use information available to convert the above data into shots based on the score you enter. When it is done, you will see shot information overlaid as below.

There you go. Those are the basics of the playing golf screen. Now get out there and start improving.
