The Follow-Up Campaign feature in BayEngage is a powerful tool to automatically re-engage subscribers who didn't interact with your initial email. By sending a targeted second email, you can significantly increase opens, clicks, and conversions.
This guide will walk you through how to create, manage, and optimize your follow-up campaigns.
Why Use a Follow-Up Campaign?
Increase Engagement: Give subscribers a second chance to see and open your email.
Improve Conversions: More eyes on your content can lead to more sales, sign-ups, or downloads.
Automate Your Workflow: Set it up once, and BayEngage handles the resend automatically. No manual work is needed.
Gain Valuable Insights: Learn which subject lines or offers resonate by targeting specific groups (e.g., non-openers).
Maximize Campaign ROI: Get more value from every campaign you send with minimal extra effort.
How to Create a Follow-Up Campaign
Setting up a follow-up is part of your normal campaign creation process.

From your BayEngage dashboard, go to Campaigns > Email Campaign and begin setting up your primary email as usual (name, audience, subject, content).
Step 2: Enable the Follow-Up Option
On the campaign setup page, scroll down to the section titled "Send a follow-up email" and click on it.

Understanding the "Send To" Options
Choosing the right segment is key to an effective follow-up. Here’s what each option means:
Option | Who It Targets | Best For... |
Not Opened | Subscribers who did not open your first email. | (Most Common) Giving your content a second chance to be seen with a new subject line. |
Opened but Not Clicked | Subscribers who opened your email but did not click any links inside. | Re-engaging an interested audience who may have been too busy to take action the first time. |
Not Clicked | Subscribers who did not click any links. This includes both those who opened and those who didn't. | A broad approach to target anyone who hasn't completed the desired action. |
Send After: Set the time delay before the follow-up is sent.
Days: Minimum 2, Maximum 15
Hours: Minimum 48, Maximum 360
Enable / Disable: Use the radio buttons to control the follow-up. The feature is active when Enable is selected. You can select Disable at any time to turn it off.
Step 4: Save and Schedule
Click the Save button within the "Send a follow-up email" section. The button will turn into an "Edit" button to confirm your settings are saved.
