What is an SMS Keyword?

An SMS keyword is a word or phrase you can use to trigger a response for future campaigns.

What Is SMS Keyword automation?

In SMS keyword automation, clients create a set of keywords and set up the automation along with those keywords. When the customer replies to campaign messages with those keywords, the customers will automatically enter the automation.

How to set up SMS keyword automation in BayEngage?

1. To set up SMS keyword automation, log in to your BayEngage account.

2. Go to "SMS" in the left-hand side menu and click Keywords > Add Keyword.

3. Add the keyword, and click “Save.”

4. Click “Create automation.

5. Now, add the automation title, choose the keyword, and click “Create.”

6. You’ll be prompted to SMS keyword automation workflow.

7. To begin, select a trigger for the flow using the "Activity filter" and "User filter." Your trigger should be based on the keyword in the activity filter, and click “Update.” For say, here we’ve used the keyword “COUPON.

With the user filter, you can filter out customers based on their historical data. You can filter based on whether the customer has placed an order in the last 6 months and more. Click “Update.”

8. You can also add the “Time delay” to your SMS automation. Drag and drop the “Delay” from the right-side panel under “Time.” That is how soon the SMS should be sent, from a few hours, days to weeks. You can also specify the time and time zone for the SMS to be delivered and click "Save."

9. Click “Edit SMS” to edit your message. You’ll be taken to another screen to insert personalization, coupon codes, and even upload images. Once done, click “Save and exit.”

10. To ensure your SMS gets delivered to customers who reply with a Coupon keyword, click "Set all Active" at the top right of the screen and “Activate.”

💡Note: You can’t set up multiple automation for the same keyword.

11. Click "View Reports" at the top right of the screen and select "Detailed report" to access your detailed metrics.
