Coupons can drive sales, boost existing customer engagement, and generate new revenue. About 60% of consumers try a new product as a result of a coupon. This article guides you on how you can import the generated coupons into BayEngage and use them in your email templates and automation workflows.

The two most common types of coupon codes are -

  • Static Coupons - Refers to the same coupon code that can be sent to any number of users. You can give this coupon code a specific title/name.

  • Dynamic Coupons - Refers to a unique coupon code, with each user receiving a different code. Dynamic coupons can be a random string of names or numbers or both.

You can use these coupons on your email templates, campaigns, pop-ups and automation.

  1. Export the static/dynamic coupons from your respective eCommerce platform (Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, etc.) as a CSV file.

2. Login to BayEngage, navigate to coupons on the dashboard, and click on create a coupon.

3. Select Import static/dynamic coupons manually on the pop-up that appears.

4. Give your coupon an appropriate title. These titles are variables and hence can be changed.

5. Now select a coupon type, i.e., Static or Dynamic.

6. Upload the CSV file or drag and drop the file in the field provided.

7. Additionally, you can also set up a fallback coupon. Fallback Coupons is a single static coupon that can be used in case you run out of coupons in the middle of your campaign.

Reasons to set up Fallback coupons:

  • Fallback coupons come in handy when you cannot generate dynamic coupons due to technical issues such as server overload.

  • This coupon is sent only when you run out of unique coupon codes, thereby reassuring your shoppers that they will still get some discount.

8. You can set the period for these coupons to be valid/active. Following the expiration of the coupons, these coupons become invalid, and users will no longer be able to use them to get discounts.

Alternatively, you can also set the coupon activity period as forever, which enables you to issue coupons until you run out of inventory.

9. Now, click on Create. Once the coupons are successfully imported, you can start issuing them to your shoppers.

NOTE: You can get detailed analytics of whether the coupons are issued, not issued, used, or unused on your BayEngage profile.
