Learn how to utilize the Show/Hide Logical feature in the email template editor, enabling you to display specific blocks or sections exclusively for designated email recipients. This functionality empowers you to tailor your email content according to your subscribers' information, ensuring a personalized and impactful marketing experience for each recipient. You can use display conditions for email campaigns and automations. The subscriber's preferences/information can be collected through pop-ups and signup forms. Check the below help article to understand how to collect, segment, and update subscribers preferences:

Note💡:

Subscribers' interests, preferences, or information is commonly known as custom fields.

In email template, you can show/hide template blocks based on three types of display condition:

  1. Custom field - By value

  2. Custom field - By presence

  3. Shopify tag

  1. Custom field - By value:

  • Consider the sets of users who are interested in football.

  • When promoting football-related products, we can show a specific block for customers who are interested in football by using Custom field - By value display condition.

  • Likewise, we can display a special section/block for customers who love the color blue by using a display condition based on their favorite color.

  • That block will only be shown to customers who have chosen blue as their favorite color during sign-up.

  • Click on the “Continue” button after selecting the display condition.

2. Custom field - By presence:

  • In this case, we have two options:

  1. Show for:

  2. Show except:

We can either show the specific email template block for customers with specific custom fields or without certain custom fields.

  • Use Case: Let's take the example of customers who have loyalty points on your website. To encourage reorders, you can promote customers loyalty points on emails. This specific block will be skipped for customers who don't sign up for a loyalty program on your website.

  • Click on the “Continue” button after selecting the display condition.

3. Shopify tag:

The Shopify tags that you have created on your Shopify store will be synced with BayEngage. In this case, we have two options:

  1. Show for:

  2. Show except:

  • We can either show the specific email template block for customers with specific Shopify tags or for customers without certain Shopify tags.

  • Use Case: We can run a special promotion for VIP customers who are tagged in your Shopify store. This block will be skipped for customers who are not part of the VIP customers Shopify tag.

Tip 💡:

As you know, you can create Shopify tags for the following section on your Shopify store:

  • Products

  • Transfers

  • Customers

  • Blog posts

  • Orders

  • Draft Orders

  • Click on the “Continue” button after selecting the display condition.
