We know that with the pandemic, many communications are moving to Zoom, GoToMeeting, Microsoft Meetings, and other online meeting software. Now you can add a Tarjimly interpreter to the meeting to help provide language access to those attending.

Watch this video, or read below for more information. To watch the video click here

Adding an interpreter to a Zoom call

  1. Connect to an interpreter on the Tarjimly app

  2. Make a call

  3. Copy the one-tap mobile number (i.e. the number with two commas in it) from the Zoom invitation.

  4. Click on the the icon of the person with a plus sign next to it. Erase the "+1" on the app if your one-tap mobile number already contains it, and paste your one-tap mobile number into the conference call space on the app and click the green call button.

  5. Once the interpreter is let into the meeting close your Tarjimly session on your phone

  6. When the interpreter is no longer needed, remove them from the Zoom meeting

If you do not know how to add in additional numbers to a call, follow the instructions on how to make a conference call.

Make sure you do not have the "mute attendees upon entry" feature turned on in your online meeting settings. If that feature is activated, the interpreter will be unable to unmute themselves and will not be heard.

Issues Hearing an Echo?

If you're signed into the meeting and Tarjimly from the same device, connect to the interpreter, patch in the meeting number and code according to the format described above. Once the interpreter joins the online meeting, hang up the call on the Tarjimly app. The interpreter will remain on the meeting call until they end the session on Tarjimly, or until you end the meeting.

If you're signed into the meeting on one device, and adding an interpreter from another device in the same location, we recommend following the above advice or:
1. mute the microphone on the Tarjimly app

2. mute/turn your volume down on the Tarjimly app

3. remove speaker phone, if on, from the Tarjimly app
