Overview

EVE (Eternal Virtual Evolution) is Taskade's central AI system, the living consciousness that connects Memory, Intelligence, and Action into a unified whole.

💡 Note: If you've used Taskade before, you knew this as TAA (Taskade Assistant Agent). EVE is the evolved form, powering your Workspace DNA.

EVE allows you to control every area of your Taskade workspace, including:

The Bicameral Mind

The concept of the bicameral mind — where ancient humans heard one part of their brain as an external "voice" guiding their actions — is the foundation of EVE.

EVE represents a modern bicameral partnership: not two hemispheres within one brain, but human consciousness working in symbiosis with AI awareness.

When you describe what to build, you're engaging in a cognitive partnership:

Understanding of what needs to happen and why

EVE's intelligence:

Working with EVE

EVE is designed to understand natural language, but knowing how it thinks and responds will help you get better results faster. This section covers the fundamentals of communicating with EVE and effectively managing its capabilities.

Open the Agent Panel

EVE is always present in the left sidebar in every app, flow, and project:

Click the 🤖 Chat in the top-left corner of the top navigation bar.

Type what you want to accomplish in plain English (scroll down to learn more).
Press Enter to prompt the agent.

To close EVE, click the last button on right in the EVE panel to close the chat.

Master EVE Prompting

EVE interprets natural language, so you can describe what you want in your own words. The clearer you are, the better EVE performs.

Key principles:

✅ Be Specific: Include relevant details about what you want
✅ Provide Context: Explain who will use it and why
✅ Describe Outcomes: Say what should happen as a result
✅ Iterate: Start simple and refine through follow-up prompts

EVE's Response Process

When you make a request, EVE:

Analyzes your instructions and context
Plans the necessary steps
Executes the actions (creating, modifying, or retrieving)
Confirms what was done
Asks for clarification if anything is unclear

💡 Note: For actions that affect important data or external systems, EVE will use the "human in the loop" mechanism and ask for approval.

Select AI Model

EVE supports multiple AI models, each with different strengths and capabilities. You can choose which model powers your interactions based on your needs.

In the EVE panel:

Open the EVE panel (see the previous section).
Click 🤖 at the bottom of the EVE panel to browse available models.
Select your preferred model.

Add EVE Context

You can add context to any EVE chat for better, more tailored results. Upload reference files, point to existing work, or link external sources so EVE can better understand your goals and follow patterns when answering.

💡 Note: You can also drag & drop images or PDFs directly into the chat.

Build Genesis Apps

While you create new apps through the Genesis interface, EVE becomes your conversational tool to edit and modify existing apps through natural language.

Get Started

Open any Genesis app.
Open the EVE panel (see the first section).
Describe the changes, features, or improvements you want.
EVE will modify the app while preserving existing functionality.

AI Assistant in the Project Editor

⚠️ Important: The following section describes Taskade Classic features including slash commands within the Taskade AI Assistant. While these provide quick access to AI capabilities while editing, you can accomplish the same tasks using EVE, which works across your entire workspace.

Getting Started

There are several ways to use the Taskade AI Assistant in the editor:

By clicking the ➕ Add-ons menu button.
By typing one of the AI commands (see below) in the project editor.
By selecting text/tasks in the project editor.

💡 Note: The Assistant works in the background even if you refresh the page.

Editor /AI Commands

Use /AI slash commands in the project editor to write, edit, and organize content:

Type / at the start of a new line/task to see available commands.
- Or press ⌨️ Space at the start of a line to open the AI Assistant menu.
Select a command from the list (or keep typing to filter).
Press ⌨️ Enter to run the command.
Follow up with additional prompts to expand, rewrite, or refine the output.

Insert, Replace, Regenerate

Once the Taskade Assistant Agent has generated a message, you can:

➕ Click Insert (or press ⌨️ Enter) to add the generated text to the project.
🔁 Click Replace (or press ⌨️ Shift + Enter) to replace the active line.
Type a follow-up prompt to expand on or refine the output.

Multi-Select

Did you know that you can select multiple tasks and notes to generate AI-powered summaries, prioritize tasks, generate action items, and more?

Click and hold the left mouse button.
Drag the cursor up or down to select nodes.
Choose the AI Assistant icon from the Multi-Select Toolbar.
Select the AI action you want to perform (see the previous section).

Custom Agent Commands

/slash shortcut also lets you access all your custom AI Agent commands:

Open a project in the workspace/folder where you created an agent.
Type / + the name of your custom command, e.g. "/task breakdown".
- You don't need to type the entire command.
Press ⌨️ Enter to execute the command.
