Project Backlinks

Create project backlinks to connect related tasks and projects.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Backlinks are smart links you create with @mention to connect items inside Taskade. You can cross‑link projects, agents, automations, media, and people. Links respect permissions, so you only see and search items you can access.

Use @mentions to:

  • ➕ Connect related projects, tasks, and resources

  • 📌 Keep discussions and references in one place

  • 🧭 Navigate quickly without copying URLs

What You Can @Mention

@mentions support multiple item types so you can connect all the pieces of work that matter. The suggestion menu shows a clear icon for each type, making it easy to pick the right target at a glance. Links render consistently wherever you use them.

Create a Backlink

Adding a backlin is fast. Open the mention menu, search by name, and insert a link. Cross‑workspace search makes it easy to find exactly what you need.

  • Place your cursor where you want the link.

  • Type @ to open the mention menu.

  • Type a partial name to search across folders and workspaces.

  • Select the item you want to mention to insert a clickable link.

Where Mentions Work

Mentions are available anywhere you create or discuss work in Taskade. This ensures links and context travel with your work—no matter the view.

When you @mention something, a backlink is created automatically in:

Project editor (all views)

Create deep links to entire projects or specific items to connect roadmaps, docs, tasks, and databases. Great for references, dependencies, and related work.

Anchor conversations to the exact work item, file, or agent you’re discussing. Mentions keep context in-thread and notify the right people automatically.

Bring live work into chat without pasting URLs. Use unique icons to identify @mention areas and let teammates jump straight into action.

Pro Tips

A few small habits make linking faster and more reliable for everyone. Consistent naming improves search results, and hub projects make it easier to discover related work. Review links after renames or moves to keep everything tidy.
