Acquiring an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) can be a complex and tedious task, but it doesn't have to be with Taxfyle! Before submitting an ITIN Application work request with us, we recommend checking out this link from the IRS to be informed on the process.

An ITIN Application can only get processed by a Tax Pro that is a Certifying Acceptance Agent (CAA). Luckily, we have plenty of Tax Pros in our network that are accredited CAA's available to assist!

To begin your ITIN Application with Taxfyle, simply sign up on our website and click on 'Add Job'. From there, select the 'Other Tax Services' package and choose 'ITIN Application'.

If you require an ITIN in conjunction with your tax return, select the 'Premier Filer' plan and indicate that you do not have an ITIN or Social Security Number when prompted. This will automatically add an ITIN to your work request.

When paired with a Tax Pro, you'll need to have a copy of the individual requiring the ITIN's Passport (preferably in PDF format) uploaded to the job. After the application is complete and submitted, it can take up to 16 weeks for the issuance of an ITIN. The IRS advises that your CAA can call after 7 weeks for a status update. Once it's received, your CAA can upload it to the job for recordkeeping so you're all set!
