Teachable iOS App: Guide for Creators

This article goes over what creators need to know about how the iOS app works, what students can do, and what’s not supported in the app.

Overview

The Teachable iOS app lets students access their course content anytime, anywhere.

How to download the iOS app

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Search for Teachable or click this link to go directly to the app.

  3. Tap Get to install. You may be prompted for your Apple ID password or Touch ID.

  4. Alternatively, scan the QR code below to open the app page.

NOTE: At this time, there is no Android app available.

What Students can do in the app

With the Teachable iOS app, students can:

  • Access all purchased courses with active enrollments

  • Stream content on the go, including:

    • Videos

    • Audio files

    • Code examples

    • HTML blocks and embedded content

    • Handouts and worksheets

  • Download courses and individual lessons for offline viewing

  • Resume course progress from where they left off (syncs automatically with the web version)

  • Navigate smoothly between lessons, courses, and multiple schools

  • Take quizzes and view their results

  • Complete lessons and track their progress

  • Submit feedback or feature requests directly through the app

  • Access content gated by course compliance rules

  • View lessons based on drip schedules, if enabled by the course creator

  • Receive push notifications for new drip content and course progress reminders

  • Participate in open-ended assessments

  • Read and write comments within lessons

Admin users (school owners, authors, custom users)

The app is designed for student use only. Admins cannot manage schools or courses via the app.

What's not available in the app

The mobile app only displays courses. The following are not supported:

  • Coaching products

  • Digital downloads

  • Memberships

  • Community

  • Native Zoom or Calendly integrations within lessons
