It's important to understand how billing works in Teachworks so that you will know how to charge and bill your clients.

The following describes how billing works for a student that is charged by the lesson and assumes that you have already set up your price list and entered the billing details for the student.

1. Schedule Lessons

When you schedule lessons, the billing settings on the studnent's profile and the cost information in your Service list is used to determine how much the lesson will cost.

2. Generate Invoice

When you generate an invoice you can add any necessary charges plus you will include all of the scheduled lessons for the student. Once you've approved the invoice, the client's account will be charged for the invoice.

3. Record Invoice Payment

The client can pay the invoice balance either online which will automatically record the payment and mark the invoice as paid, or they can make payment to you and you can apply the payment to the invoice.

In summary, yo must generate and approve an invoice in order to charge a customer. Once charged, a customer can make a payment to pay for the invoice which will reduce their account balance.
