Lesson notes emails are emails that can be sent after a teacher completes a lesson. Lesson notes can include details about the lesson as well as any notes entered by the teacher in the "Shared Notes" field.

Sending Lesson Notes

In order to send your clients lesson notes, the following conditions must be met:

  1. The family and/or student profile must have a valid email address.

  2. The "Receive Lesson Notes" setting is enabled on the student and/or family's profile.

  3. There must be notes entered in the "Shared Notes" field.

  4. The "Email Shared Notes" option must be checked when completing the lesson.

A third requirement exists for a teacher to send lesson notes: If the "Send Lesson Notes" option is not visible, it is likely due to permission settings associated with the teacher's user account. This permission controls whether a user can email or share lesson notes from the Complete Lesson form.

  1. You must set the "Send Lesson Notes" permission setting on the teacher's profile to "On", otherwise the "Email Shared Notes" checkbox will not be displayed on the complete lesson form. Only users with administrative privileges can modify permissions for other users. If you do not have access to the permissions settings, contact your company administrator for assistance. To enable this permission, navigate to the teacher's profile under Employees > Employee List, edit the "User Access & Permissions" section, set the "Send Lesson Notes" permission to On, and save the changes.

Customizing Lesson Notes Emails

You can customize the "Lesson Notes" template by following the instructions here: Customizing Notification Templates.
