Our Enhanced Lesson Completion Add-on lets you customize and add enhancements to the Lesson Completion form to improve efficiency. You can easily hide the Lesson Notes fields to shorten the form and streamline attendance taking (if you don’t need to add lesson notes).

You can also enable the option to update the attendance status for multiple students in a lesson in bulk

Enabling The Add-On

  1. Click on "Account & Settings" and then click on "Integrations & Add-ons".

  2. Use the "Search" field on the right and enter "Enhanced Lesson Completion".

  3. Click on the "Enable" link.

Settings

Once you’ve enabled the add-on, you can click on the “Settings” link and configure the following settings:

  • Single Student Settings: You can choose to enable or disable the "Shared Notes" and/or "Internal Notes" fields on the "Complete Lesson" Form for single student lessons.

  • Group Lesson Settings: You can choose to enable or disable the "Shared Notes" and/or "Internal Notes" on the "Complete Lesson" Form for lessons with more than 1 student assigned to them.

  • Set Status for All Students at Once: If you enable this setting, a menu will be added to the "Complete Lesson" form that lets you set the status for all students at once.

  • Replicate Group Notes: If you enable this setting, it allows lesson notes to be entered once and then replicated to each student in the lesson. You can check the last option to then automatically check the "Email Shared Notes" box if replicating shared notes.

  • Require Completed Status - If teachers often forget to update the status of their lessons after entering lesson notes, you can enable this option for Internal and/or Shared notes. If the form is submitted with a "Scheduled" status, there will be a validation error.

  • Require Internal Notes - Enable this setting if you would like to require internal lesson notes be entered for the statuses selected in the lesson status field.

  • Require Shared Notes - Enable this setting if you would like to require shared lesson notes be entered for the statuses selected in the lesson status field.

  • Require Completed Status - This setting can be enabled for Internal and/or Shared Notes. When enabled if there are any Internal or Shared Notes entered for a student, this requires that the lesson status is changed to one other than "Scheduled".

  • Require Lesson Notes to be Different from Notes Templates - When this setting is enabled, if you require lesson notes and you have set note templates in the Account Settings page, the notes entered on the "Complete Lesson" form must be different from the notes template.

  • Require "Email Shared Notes" - When this setting is enabled, it requires the "Email Shared Notes" checkbox is enabled if notes have been entered into the "Shared Notes" field, the status is not "Scheduled" and the lesson notes have not already been sent.

  • Attach Files - When this setting is enabled, it allows shared files to be attached to the lesson notes for a student. Files will be attached to lesson note emails sent to your clients.

  • Link Editor - The Link Editor is a formatting option on the notes fields for inserting links with anchor text and the option to open links in a new tab. If the "Link Editor" setting is set to "Enable", the link editor will be available on the "Complete Lesson" Form. If the setting is set to "Disable", the link editor will be removed from the notes section on the Complete Lesson Form.

NOTE: Statuses can still be set separately for each student in a group class if you have "Set Status for All Students at Once" setting enabled.

Updating The Lesson Status For Multiple Students in Bulk

You can follow the steps below to update the lesson status for multiple students in bulk:

  1. Click on the lesson on the calendar and click the “Complete” link (you can also access the Lesson Completion form the “Uncompleted Lessons” dashboard widget or Lesson History pages).

  2. Scroll down to the “Student Details” section

  3. Make sure that the “Bulk Update Scheduled to” field reflects the appropriate status ("Attended", "Cancelled", "Missed" or any Custom Lesson Statuses you’ve added).

  4. Click the “Apply Status” button

NOTE: The feature will only update the status for students if the current status is set to “Scheduled”. For example, if you’ve previously changed the status for a student in the lesson to “Cancelled”, that status will remain unchanged.

Restoring Lesson Statuses back to "Scheduled"

If you’ve accidentally applied the wrong lesson status or you didn’t mean to update the status, you can click the “Restore to Scheduled” button to change the status back to “Scheduled” for all students in the lesson.
