If you've added students as Independent Students and have determined that they should be Child Students that belong to a Family it is possible to convert them.

Converting the independent student will create the following records:

  1. A family profile that has all of the invoices, payments, and other records that were associated with the independent student.

  2. A child student that belongs to the family and has all of the lessons that were associated with the independent student.

Converting Independent Students

Complete the following steps to convert an independent student:

  1. Enable the "Independent Student Conversion Add-On" under Account settings > integrations and add-ons.

  2. Once enabled, log into your administrator account and go to the Students table. Note: This can only be done from the administrator account.

  3. In the sidebar, click the "Convert Independents" link. This will display a list of your Independent Students.

  4. Select students that you want to convert by checking the boxes next to their names.

  5. Click the "Select Students to Convert" button at the top of the table.

  6. Confirm the students to be converted and select the option for handling user accounts. If the student has a user account, you can choose to associate the user account on the child student profile or the family profile.

  7. Confirm that you understand that this process cannot be undone and submit the form. If you will be converting more students you can click the "Convert & Select More" button which will direct you back to the Independent Students page, or click "Convert" and you will be directed to the Families table with the converted families displayed.

  8. For each converted family, update the name and contact details with the family's information. If you prefer to add the student to an existing family, select the student click edit and select the family that the child belongs to. Then go back to the converted family and mark it as inactive. (there will be no child under it as it was transferred to the new family).
