The Lesson Summaries report can be found under the "Reports" tab. This report is used to display information related to lessons in a list format and can be configured to display either individual student records or lesson-level summaries, depending on the selected Data Type.

Report Settings

You can customize your Lesson Summary report by configuring the following types of fields:

  • Data Type - "Lessons by Student" displays lesson details with information related to the students in a lesson such as the cost, notes, etc. This data type generates one record for each student in a lesson, which can result in repeated records for group lessons. To avoid this, you can select the "Lessons" data type, which displays top-level information about a lesson such as the total fees, wage, profit, etc., and ensures that only one record per lesson is shown. To change the Data Type, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Lesson Summaries Report in Teachworks.

    2. Locate the "Data Type" field in the report settings.

    3. Click on the "Data Type" field to view the available options.

    4. Select the "Lessons" option from the dropdown menu.

  • Dates - Select start and end dates.

  • Filters - Select one or more options to filter the lessons.

  • Format - Display results in list format or totals.

  • Grouping - Choose how to group results or do not group them and they will appear in chronological order.

  • Order - Choose ascending or descending order.

  • Columns - select which columns to display for each of the results.

  • Logo - If you are printing or saving a report to PDF to provide to a client you can check the box to include the logo at the top of the report.

Saving Reports

If you frequently generate a specific type of report, you can save the settings by checking the "Save Settings" checkbox and entering a title.

Once saved, you can select the "Used Saved Settings" option and select the report from the menu. The saved settings will be pre-filled and you can adjust the date to use the new time period.

NOTE: If you are using the Safari browser, downloading the report via Excel is not supported. You will need to use another browser such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox.

NOTE: All of the columns you select are downloaded as text. In order to total up any amounts or counts you have selected, you will first need to apply "Text to columns" on these columns so that Excel views them as numbers instead of text. You can find the steps to do this here: Convert Text to Columns.
