Teacher Location Links Add-on

Written by Teachworks Support

The Teacher Location Links Add-on allows you to create a single location (e.g., "Online Lesson") that automatically links to a unique web address stored on each teacher's profile.

When a lesson is scheduled at this location, the location name becomes a clickable hyperlink leading directly to that specific teacher's meeting room.

Enabling the Add-on

  1. Click on "Account" and then click on "Integrations & Add-ons".

  2. Use the search field at the top and enter "Teacher Location Links".

  3. Switch the toggle to "On" to enable the add-on.

Once the add-on has been enabled, you can specify the location's display name using the "Display Name" field and select the calendar color on the add-on's settings page:

NOTE: The calendar color will only be used if your lesson color-coding is set to "Locations".

Setting Link on Teacher Profiles

A "Teacher Location Link" section will be displayed on teachers' profiles. You can set the location link URL on teachers' profiles by following the steps below:

  1. Click on "Employees" and then click on "Employee List".

  2. Edit a teacher's profile by clicking on the "Edit" button.

  3. Click on the "Profile" tab.

  4. Scroll down to the "Teacher Location Link" section.

  5. Enter the URL in the "Location Link URL" field. Important: The URL must begin with http:// or https://.

  6. Click on "Submit" to save your changes.

Usage

When scheduling a lesson, the location will appear as the entered display name in the "Location" field on the "Add Lesson" form.

When this location is selected, the lesson location will use the link that has been set on the selected teacher's profile.

When viewing the lesson on the calendar using the "View" option from the pop-up menu, you can click on the location's name to be directed to the URL:

The location will also be displayed in your Location list. If you need to edit the location, you can follow the steps below:

  1. In the "Location" List, click on the "Manage Add-on Settings" button.

  2. Update the Display Name and/or color field.

  3. Save your changes.
