In Teachworks, "completing" a lesson moves it from a scheduled state to a finalized state for attendance tracking and billing and payroll.
What does "Completing" a Lesson Include?
When you open a lesson to complete it, you will typically finalize three core pieces of information:
Time Adjustments: Making any necessary changes to the actual start and end times.
Attendance Status: Setting whether the students were Attended, Missed, or Cancelled.
Lesson Notes: Entering internal records or feedback to be sent to families and/or students.
Completing Multiple Lessons in Succession
If you only have one lesson to update, clicking Submit will save your changes and take you right back to the Calendar or Lesson History table.
However, if you have a backlog of multiple lessons to catch up on, you can speed up the process by using the Submit & Next button:
Open your first uncompleted lesson.
Update the time, attendance, and notes.
Click the Submit & Next button at the bottom of the form.
Your lesson will save the current details and automatically open the next uncompleted lesson in your queue.
Setting Statuses for Multiple Lessons at Once
If you only need to update the attendance status for a group of lessons and do not need to enter individual lesson notes, you can complete multiple lessons simultaneously to save time by following the steps below:
Click on "Calendar" and then click on "Lesson History".
Using the checkboxes on the left-hand side, select the lessons you'd like to complete.
At the top of the table, select the status you'd like to use in the drop-down menu.
Click on "Go" to make the changes.
The status that was selected will then be applied to all of the selected lessons.
