This article will walk you through the process of setting up Break Policies from the Break Settings and assigning to a location.
Creating a Break Policy:
You can create Break Policies to run automatically by selecting Add Break to Policy and entering Break Name, Rule, Unpaid/ Paid, and hours worked when the break policy will run.
You can have multiple Break Policies assigned based on Break Name, Rule, Unpaid/ Paid, and hours worked to define each policy and the action.
For Example, you can assign a Mandatory break of 30 Minutes to be unpaid for any employee who is clocked in and has worked 6 hours.
You can also assign a Mandatory break of 45 Minutes to be unpaid for any employee who is clocked in and has worked 10 hours.
Each Break Policy will run simultaneously based on the defined values you set and will only be applied to each employee based on the hours worked.
Assigning Break Policy:
Lastly after you have created a new break policy and have saved, you will need to assign your break policy to your company locations.
Navigate and select your company's locations tab, from here you will see all locations, when you see the location, you will be working with hover over the location name and select open.
After selecting open on your desired location, a new window will pop up allowing you to add your newly created break policy. You can add the policy by selecting the open box below Break Policy. Lastly your break policy will open and appear by the name select your desired policy and select save.
Any users that have scheduled shifts for a location with an assigned break policy will now be prompted to take a break based on your policy created.
You will need to assign a break policy for each location in order for a user to abide by your break policy.
