Why Bulk Upload Feedback Participants?
In reviews that include 360-degree feedback, admins can upload feedback providers and receivers in bulk at the start of a review cycle. This feature saves time, reduces manual entry, and ensures that all relevant feedback relationships are captured consistently.
Use Cases
Bulk uploading 360-degree participants is especially useful for:
Large-scale review cycles: When hundreds of employees need multiple feedback relationships assigned.
Cross-functional teams: To make sure peers and collaborators outside of a direct reporting line are included.
Consistent evaluation setup: Ensures no important feedback provider is missed when cycles are launched.
How to Upload Feedback Providers via CSV
1. Access the Admin Center: Log in to your Teamflect account and navigate to the Admin Center. This is where you can manage various settings and configurations for your organization's reviews.
2. Create a Review Template: Within the Admin Center, locate the option to create a new review template. Click on this to initiate the template creation process.
3. Configure 360-Degree Feedback:
In the template builder, add a 360-Degree Feedback step.
Choose which types of providers you want to include (peers, managers, direct reports, external contacts).
⚠️ Note: Manager/supervisor and report/supervisee feedback requests only display templates associated with them (as shown in the interface).
4. Start and Automate Step: After selecting the levels of feedback providers, navigate to the "Start and Automate" step of the review template creation process. This step allows you to automate certain aspects of the review cycle.
5. Download template: This generates an Excel file you’ll use for the bulk upload.
6. Fill Out Excel File:
The file includes columns for Receiver, Provider, and Type.
Enter the correct relationships (e.g., Peer, Manager, Direct Report).
7. Upload CSV File
Save your completed Excel file as a CSV.
Return to the upload section in Teamflect and select Choose File → CSV.
8. Complete Upload Process
Follow the prompts to finalize the upload.
Teamflect will process the file and assign providers and receivers accordingly as soon as you start the review cycle by clicking the Start button.
Important Notes
Bulk uploading is only available for one-time review cycles, not automated cycles.
The CSV format must match the required structure exactly (Provider, Receiver, Type).
Incorrectly formatted files may result in errors or missing assignments.
Practical Example: Direct Reports Giving Feedback to Managers
Here’s a real-world scenario to clarify how the CSV file should be filled out:
Scenario: Maria (direct report) is giving feedback to her manager, Khalid.
Receiver column: Enter Khalid’s email (the person receiving the feedback).
Provider column: Enter Maria’s email (the person giving the feedback).
Type column: Select Direct Report / Supervisee since Maria is Khalid’s direct report.
📌 Note: In Teamflect, a manager’s manager can view any feedback that the manager receives. For example, although Khalid cannot see the feedback he receives, his manager, Jenny, will be able to see it. This ensures visibility at higher leadership levels.
Best Practice Recommendation
We recommend:
Prepare the list in advance by working with HRBPs or department heads to confirm feedback relationships before upload.
Validate the CSV file with a small pilot group first, to ensure formatting and relationships are set up correctly.
Use bulk upload for larger review cycles (50+ participants). For smaller teams, manual setup may be faster and less error-prone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do the receivers listed in the CSV file need to match the reviewees selected in the cycle?
A: Yes. The feedback receivers in your CSV must be exactly the same as the reviewees you select when setting up the review cycle. If they don’t match, the system cannot process the file correctly.
Q: Can I bulk upload for automated review cycles?
A: No. Bulk uploading is supported only for one-time review cycles.
Q: What happens if the “Type” field is incorrect or left blank?
A: The upload will fail, and the relationships won’t be created. Always double-check the Provider/Receiver/Type formatting.
