As the org chart is a visualization of your company's structure, it's a great place to identify where headcount will need to be added as you scale. You are able to add new headcount from either the existing employee cards, or from already approved new headcount.

Note: Depending on your permissions in TeamOhana, you may not have access to all of these features and/or will only be able to utilize these features on your own team, rather than on the entire organization.

Adding headcount from existing employee cards:

Start by clicking the three dots on the far right side of the card. A menu will open up that prompts you to either add headcount, clone headcount, or create a backfill.

  • Add headcount - selecting "add headcount" will open a drawer on the right side of the page for you to create a new headcount request. Because you've created the headcount from an existing employee, that person will be auto-populated as the headcount's reporting manager and this field will not be editable. Fill in the relevant information in the drawer, then click "create;" this will send the headcount request up the approval chain.

  • Clone headcount - selecting "clone headcount" will also open a drawer on the right side of the page for you to create a new headcount request. Because you've cloned an existing employee, some of the headcount fields will be auto-populated with that employee's information (such as reporting manager, department, and title.) Fill in the remaining relevant information in the drawer, then click "create;" this will send the headcount request up the approval chain.

  • Create backfill - selecting "create backfill" will trigger a workflow very similar to that of "clone headcount:" it will open a drawer on the right side of the page with auto-populated fields based on the employee for whom you are creating a backfill. The key difference is that this headcount will be explicitly labeled as a backfill for that employee. Fill in the remaining relevant information in the drawer, then click "create;" this will send the headcount request up the approval chain.

Adding headcount from other approved headcount:

The workflow is very similar to creating headcount from employees, except for that your only option will be to clone headcount.

  • Clone headcount - selecting "clone headcount" will open a drawer on the right side of the page for you to create a new headcount request. Because you've cloned an already-approved headcount, some of the fields will be auto-populated with that headcount's information (such as reporting manager, department, and title.) Fill in the remaining relevant information in the drawer, then click "create;" this will send the headcount request up the approval chain.

If you accidentally select any of these options, they can be undone by selecting the X at the top left corner of the drawer.
