A new era in strategic workforce planning
Workforce planning is being reinvented right before our eyes. The new way is painless and collaborative, instead of time-consuming and tedious. The new way works only with the most up-to-date people data, compensation bands, and org chart – unlike old methods, which require hours of pulling reports and data reconciliation.
The new way doesn’t send department leaders into spreadsheet hell, but rather brings self-service tools to their fingertips to create and modify headcount plans in an access-controlled workspace purpose built for headcount planning. Learn more about the new way in TeamOhana’s latest blog post here.
New features
Scenarios: New plan and Modify plan
The "New plan" template for Scenarios enables users to build a hiring plan from the bottom up. The benefits of this feature include:
Each user can create and save as many scenarios as they'd like, enabling them to be prepared for any number of circumstances (aggressive hiring, steady growth, etc)
The incremental cost of each new headcount on the plan is tracked on the scenario in real time
Users can collaborate with others by inviting them to view or edit their scenario, ensuring that plans are not built in a vacuum
Finance can provide headcount and budgetary guidelines so users know exactly the parameters within which to build their plan
And best of all: planning never has to happen in a spreadsheet again.
With "Modify plan," users can take a point-in-time snapshot of their hiring plan, then make adjustments to things like start dates, job levels, and compensation, and see the impact of those changes in real time.
A process that once took days of back and forth across Talent, Finance and the hiring manager is now simplified into a few clicks and a number of seconds.
Once users complete their New plan or Modified plan template and have invited others to collaborate with them, they will submit their plan for approval. Once all approvers have signed off, the scenario is merged into the hiring plan.
As with all TeamOhana modules, Scenarios are permissions-controlled and by default, department leaders and hiring managers will only have access to their own departments while building or modifying their plans.
