How to to sync calendar events to your Surfboard schedule.

Updated over 2 months ago

Easily collate, view and schedule around all of your team's events and meetings in your Surfboard schedule using synced events.

Simply invite the block@teamsurfboard.com email address to any event in your calendar and it will shortly be synced to Surfboard, including the title of the event.

Surfboard will then schedule around these synced events when creating schedules. And, if any last-minute meetings are synced in, your schedule will be automatically updated too.

Anyone can sync their events to Surfboard, so tell your surfers about it too!

How to sync an event to Surfboard

To sync an event from an external calendar such as Gmail, Outlook or even Calendly to your Surfboard schedule, simply invite block@teamsurfboard.com to the event.

Once synced, the event meeting title will be visible to all managers and surfers on your team and be included in any synced Slack status' too. This usually takes around 30mins to update.

💡 Surfboard syncs calendar events up to 8 weeks into the future

Top tips

  • If your team needs to block out time for a private appointment and doesn't want to share the title, you can create a separate event for the same time with a different title and invite block@teamsurfboard.com to that instead.

  • When inviting surfers to a meeting with a group alias, make sure to expand the alias so that everyone is invited separately to the event. Otherwise only the group is invited, and Surfboard doesn't know whose time to block.

⚠️ If the guest list for an event is hidden, then block@ won’t work.
