Changing the activity type

Click on an activity in the schedule
Select 'switch activity' from the menu
The activities shown will be listed in two groups: assigned activities and unassigned activities. This is to help you make sure you only schedule activities that surfers are skilled in.
Select the activity you want to change it to and it will update
If the shift was previously published, it will now be in draft. You will need to publish the shift again to share the changes with your team.

Changing the length of an activity

Click on an activity in the schedule
Select 'change duration' from the menu
Select the duration that you want from the list and it will update.
If the shift was previously published, it will now be in draft. You will need to publish the shift again to share the changes with your team.

💡 You can quickly fill any gaps in your schedule by selecting 'fill available space' from the list of options.

Adding activities to the schedule

Tap on the 'add activities' button in the top left corner of the schedule to open the toolbar.
Select any activity or break from the toolbar. If you haven't yet created any breaks or activities, you can also create new ones from this toolbar.
Click into any available space to add it to a surfer's schedule.
If the shift was previously published, it will now be in draft. You will need to publish the shift again to share the changes with your team.

If you need to make mass edits

The quickest way to schedule activities in Surfboard is with an Activity Plan. An Activity Plan is a group of rules that tell Surfboard how you want your team to be scheduled. Once applied to the schedule, Surfboard will then use these rules to dynamically generate schedules working with the surfers who are available, and adapting to time off and calendar events.

You can edit your Activity Plans and the rules within them at any time. It's important to know that once applied to the schedule, Activity Plans won't update automatically – you need to reapply the Plan to the schedule to push the changes.
