Endorsements provide a simple way for candidates to ask people they have worked with to vouch for their experience early in the recruitment process. They're designed to be quick and easy for endorsers to complete, while giving recruiters additional context about a candidate's experience, skills, and professional background.
Enable endorsements
The Endorsements feature can be enabled in the Application step when editing a job or job template. Once enabled, candidates will be given the option to request endorsements from people they have worked with after submitting their application.
Add an endorser
After submitting their application, candidates will be presented with an optional step to add endorsers.
When selected, the candidate is taken to a form where they can add one or more endorsers by providing the following information:
Name
Work email
Role / Company (optional)
After the candidate submits their requests, the selected endorsers will receive an email inviting them to submit an endorsement.
Endorse a candidate
The endorsers receive an email invitation containing a button that takes them directly to the endorsement page.
On this page, endorsers are asked to confirm their endorsement. After submitting it, they are taken to a thank-you page where they can also choose to leave a comment.
Skills and traits
If there are skills and traits added to the candidate's profile as candidate competencies, endorsers will be able to endorse them as well. This helps to provide an additional signal that the candidate's skills and traits are recognized by people they have worked with.
View an endorsement
All endorsers who have submitted their endorsement will be listed in the Endorsements section on the candidate card.
Endorsements replaced a previous feature called Recommendations. Any existing recommendation data was transferred automatically, so you may already see historical recommendation data in the Endorsements section in candidate profiles.
An Internal status is displayed on an endorsement when the endorser is identified as an internal user. This happens if any of the following conditions are met:
Auto-join domain match: The endorser's email domain matches one of the domains set up under Settings → Company → Auto-join.
SSO auto-join domain match: The endorser's email domain matches an auto-join domain configured on any of your company's SSO connections.
Exact user match: The endorser's email address exactly matches the login email of an existing user in the company. In this case, the endorsement is marked as internal regardless of the email domain, along with their profile image.
If skills and traits have been endorsed as part of the endorsement, they will be displayed here too.
Add endorsers as references
If you are using our add-on feature References, endorsers can be selected as reference providers. When candidates are asked to submit references, they will be able to choose from their existing endorsers or add new people.
