Preferences
Select "Settings" in the upper right-hand corner to begin setting preferences by location.
💡These settings are only per location. Even if you have access to multiple locations, you are only able to adjust settings for the location you have selected in the location navigator (left-hand tree) at that point in time.
Fertility Analysis
This setting allows a location to set its preferences for removal rates and price area units. If nothing in the setting is turned on, then the fertility + removal recommendation system will not always apply removal rates to areas where the equation had a zero recommendation.
The following are changes a location can make to the setting regarding where to apply removal:
Whether or not to apply removal to zero recommendation areas.
- Example: If you want to use the yield removal feature in fertilizer recommendations, this should be turned to yes, or else it will not apply yield removal. This feature doesn't use soil test information, so it thinks everywhere is a zero recommendation area in this case.
The location also has the option to have the system auto-fill the average yield value where there's a missing yield:
Whether or not to apply average yield value to missing yield areas.
The average rate of application can be set to be based on field area or non-zero recommendation area.
Price can be set to be calculated by applied area or field area.
Nutrient Credit Scheme can be Balanced (default) or One Way.
Example: When creating a fertility recommendation with DAP and Urea and the setting is set to "Balanced", the rec system will adjust the amount of DAP applied to ensure that "N" was not over-applied. However, in that scenario, when DAP is being used for a P source, the total P would be affected and not met if the Nitrogen need was exceeded. Thus, the new setting "One way" was established. With this setting set to "One Way", it allows DAP to run to the amount to fulfill the P Rec.
Color Palettes
Create a custom color scale for soil sample nutrient results, dashboard view, and reports.
Select the start and end colors and number of steps (color breaks).
Adding "Stop Points" is another way to control contrast.
An index does not need to be entered for value 1 or the last index, these are automatic based on the starting color and ending color.
The fewer steps you use, the more contrast (or less smoothing) you will see.
Color Scale
The Color Scale for a nutrient can be set by the organization. After creating a Color Palette, select the element, extraction method, and palette you wish to use.
Color scales can be absolute or relative.
Relative: This color scale setup is shown below and assigns colors based on one minimum and one maximum at the bottom and top of the spectrum.
Absolute: This color scale setup is shown below and allows you to assign minimum and maximum values to each color.

Crops
Add favorite crops and set the desired color for specific crops on dashboards. Preferred or favorite crops are also displayed at the top of any commodity list.
Crops must be set as favorites to sync with the mobile app.
You can also shorten the list of crops you have to scroll through by setting "Restrict useable crops to favorites" to "Yes".

Crop Removal Coefficient
Set a default removal rate for N, P2O5, S, and/or K2O per unit harvested for the crops listed below. Default values are pulled from http://www.ipni.net/article/IPNI-3296
By default, the system will use some of the following removal coefficients. These are used when creating a Yield Removal rec. To change the coefficients used during the yield removal calculation, update the defaults using this setting feature.
Crop Variety Colors
Customize color preferences further by setting custom variety colors. Organize plantings by variety and customize them by color to locate them quickly and easily.
Data Browser
When turned on, this setting will warn users when mapping a duplicate field that the boundary already exists in TELUS Agronomy.
Element Display Order
Organize the order in which elements will be displayed on the field sample dashboard and field sample reports by clicking on the icon next to an element and dragging it to the desired position.
Element Units
This setting is used by a user and not "location" like all other settings.
Set the unit of measure preference when viewing soil sample results. These units default to uploaded value but can be changed. For example, if a lab reports the results in ppm but you would like to view the results in lb/ac, set the preference using the Element Units setting.
Farm Boundaries
This option, when toggled to 'Yes', will automatically draw a farm boundary around the field boundaries that are created. This improves navigating in the map view.
Fertility Limits
Set the default maximum, minimum, and/or rounding rate for elements to be used in making fertility recommendations.
Growth Stage Systems
An organization hierarchy may have more than one growth stage that is utilized for a crop. An example would be if a standard is set at a "Corporate" level but perhaps a particular location would like to use a different growth stage. The Growth Stage Systems setting allows for a location to designate which growth stage list to use for a location.
Select the commodity to assign a master growth stage to.
Select the Growth Stage from the drop-down.
Then select 'Add Growth Stage'
Interpolation
Set a default interpolation method for fertilizer recommendations for your organization.
Choose from Inverse Distance or Kriging methods of interpolation for fertilizer recommendations.
Interpolation searches for pixels within a range and determines how much weight to put on that pixel based on various methods.
Inverse distance says the farther away from a point of interest a pixel is, the less weight it puts on that pixel.
Kriging is weighted on distance and equations that take data sets into account.
Nearest Neighbor algorithm selects the value of the nearest point and does not consider the values of neighboring points at all, yielding a piecewise-constant interpolant.

Labs
This setting is used to set a default Lab Account number. Simply select the lab, enter the account number and select 'Add'. Anyone sampling a field within the organization will have the account number by default when collecting a new sample event on the mobile app or when creating a Lab Check-In Sheet from the desktop.
Products
This setting allows for customization of the Product Source. Select All, Private or Public.
Seasons
This setting allows organizations to customize how many historical seasons are displayed as well as how many future seasons are displayed. Additionally, a season can have sub-seasons. For example, if you need to track a Spring planting and a Fall planting, you can enter that as a sub-season.

Units
This is where unit preferences for a location are set:
A. Speed: Choose from various units of measure for the speed of the equipment.
B. Area Unit: Choose from various units of measure of land (acres, hectare, etc)
C. Elevation Unit: Choose from various units of measure for the slope of the land.
D. Harvest Unit: Choose from various units of measure for the amount of crops harvested.
E. Application Dry Unit: Choose from various units of measure for a unit of dry product application.
F. Application Liquid Unit: Choose from various units of measure for a unit of liquid product application.
G. Transfer Dry Unit
H. Transfer Liquid Unit
I. Currency Unit: Choose the currency in which the price should be displayed.
J. Commodity Specific Harvest Units: Some commodities are measured in different units than others. Click "Add Harvest Unit" to set crop-specific default harvest units.
💡Units will default to the unit preference selected under settings. Once a user changes the unit of the product in TELUS Agronomy, the system will default to the last selected unit of measure.
Recommendation Sort Order
Organize the order in which elements will be displayed on the recommendation dashboard by clicking on the icon next to an element and dragging it to the desired position.
Single Sample Map
When single sample map is flagged, it allows a single sample result to display on a colored map. If there is a custom color scale created and this setting set to "yes", then your custom colors will also display on the soil sample results dashboard. If it's turned off, the single sample map will be transparent and just show background imagery with a single sample in the field centroid.
Trapping
This setting allows for locations to customize the trap radius when servicing traps. The default is 100 feet.
