Editing or deleting a boundary

All boundaries whether they are fields or plantings are edited in the same way.

Editing/Deleting a Point or Boundary

  1. If you want to edit your boundary, choose the 'Edit Shape' tool, then click on the shape.

2. All of the points will appear. Select a single point to drag and move it.

3. Double click a single point to select it for 'removal' then select the Trashcan icon.

A. Trash Can: After selecting a point or a shape, use this tool to remove it.

B. Undo: If you make a mistake, use this option to undo last edit.

Move or Resize a Boundary

  1. To move or resize a shape, click on the 'Move/Resize Shape' tool.

2. There are two circles which appear, each providing a different function.

A. Middle Circle: To move the shape, click on the center circle, which selects the shape and then move the shape as desired. This option moves the entire shape of the boundary to the new location.

B. Outer Circle: To resize the polygon, select the outer circle and drag to the new desired size.

3. Click outside the boundary when moving/resizing is complete and the boundary will be ready to be saved.

Splitting a Boundary

  1. To split an existing boundary, click on the 'Split Tool'.

2. Click on a point outside of the shape.

3. Then click points through the boundary (i.e if you are following a river bend in between a field). Once through the other side of the polygon, double click outside the polygon to complete the split.

4. Next, use the 'Selection Tool' to select the part of the field not being planted at this time.

5. Then click on the 'Trash Can' to delete that shape. What will remain is the portion of the field that is being assigned a commodity.

6. Save the planting, then create a new planting again for the same season and the system will automatically default to the remaining balance of the field boundary.
