This integration allows you to connect your My John Deere account with TELUS Agronomy and seamlessly transfer data. Whether you have a Partner or Staff relationship with the MJD Organization, data will flow into TELUS Agronomy. It also allows for the process of Gen 4 Data, Apex, and any MDT data. Some important items to keep in mind.
Integrations must be renewed annually. TELUS Agronomy checks for new Member Organizations every 4 hours, for Partnership Organizations every hour, and for new Machines every 4 hours. File transfer status changes are checked every 20 minutes.
Another important item is that field operations by MyJohnDeere do not merge with other raw file types. This data must be manually merged after it is processed in TELUS Agronomy.
Navigate to Organizational Setup > Integrations > My John Deere Integration
Select 'Add My John Deere Integration' in the lower right.
3. On the next screen, name the integration. (It will default to 'First Name, Last Name Integration')
4. The Overview tab displays the following information:
A. Integration Name - Name that was established for the integration, this entry can be modified.
B. Integration Activity - Enabled means it is enabled to receive data from MJD into TELUS Agronomy.
C. Connection Status - Denotes if the account is connected. Select 'Log Into Your Account' if the status is not showing as 'Connected'
D. Organizations - adding organizations allows users with access to edit the integration, access to data from the integration, and send files to machines.
E. Growers - adding growers allows users with access to edit the integration, access to data from the integration, and send files to machines.
5. After selecting 'Log into your Account', a new window will display to enter the My John Deere Username and Password.
6. Next, select 'Allow' to connect the MJD Account to an TELUS Agronomy account. Then the page will refresh and display an updated connection status.
7. Under 'User Details', the names of the organizations will be displayed, as well as whether they are a Member Organization or a Partner Organization.
A. Member Organization is one that you are set as a 'Staff' relationship in MJD. This will normally be for ones that belong to the organization you are employed with.
B. Partner Organization is one where you are set as a 'Partner' relationship in MJD. This will normally be a Grower MJD account where they have perhaps shared their logged data information with your MJD account.
8. Select the first Organization and within the new pop-over select whether a connection at the Organization level or at the Grower level should be made. Use the "Add" option to add a specific location or a specific grower(s). Select 'Done' to collapse the pop-over:
A. Organization: This will map the MJD Organization data to the TELUS Agronomy Organization's fields. What does this mean? Any logged data that is in the MJD account will come over to TELUS Agronomy and look at every field within the TELUS Agronomy organization and attempt to create a field event on that field. Any overlapping data and fields within the entire TELUS Agronomy organization will receive data.
B. Grower: This option allows more control over which fields the MJD data will look at before creating field events. What does this mean? If a certain grower is selected, then all data from the MJD Account will look at only that specific grower's field boundaries and attempt to create field events. Any overlapping data and fields within that selected Grower will receive data.
9. Map only the Member and Partner Organizations that are preferred by selecting the TELUS Agronomy Organization or TELUS Agronomy from the drop-down that appears after selecting "Add"
10. If desired, two MJD Organizations may be mapped to the same TELUS Agronomy Organization, and/or two TELUS Agronomy Organizations may be mapped to a single MJD Organization.
11. After selecting the correct associations, there is a section called "Field Operations'. This allows for customization of which years of data come through to TELUS Agronomy, as well as the ability to view imports.
A. Start Season - This will default to the current season. If desired, enter in an earlier season. Keep in mind, if you already have earlier season data (for example 2017) and you create this integration with a start season of 2017, duplicate Field Events will display in Logged Data.
B. End Season - This option can be used to create a stop date for when data should no longer be transferred from MJD to TELUS Agronomy.
C. Excluded Season - If there is a certain season of data that should be excluded, use this option.
12. If the desired organization is not displayed in the list of organizations, use the option "Request Partnership" to request a new partnership.
A. Request Partnership - If a Partnership Organization is not displaying and you would like to request access to that organization to create an integration, select this option. Enter in an email address and the owner of that organization will receive an email request from MyJohnDeere to approve access. Once approved, the Partner Organization will display within the integration setup page.
13. After all Associations and Field Operations preferences are set, select 'Save'.
14. Data will begin to flow but may take up to 48-72 hours to process.
15. To review data progress, navigate to Logged Data > Field Data > Raw Files.
Sending Files
After the integration is established, another feature is the ability to send recommendations and zones from TELUS Agronomy to MJD wirelessly.
Navigate to a particular integration. Then select the organization from the tree, and lastly select 'Upload Files'.
3. Select 'Browse' or drag the Recommendation or Zone into the window that displays.
4. After dragging the file, it will display in the 'View Uploaded Files' area.
5. Once a file has been loaded, it will populate the file details:
A. This shows the status of the file being sent to the operations center.
B. This shows the status of the file being sent from the operations center to the machine.
Accessing a Controller Remotely - Remote Desktop Access
Another feature within the new MJD integration is the ability to access a controller from TELUS Agronomy.
If equipment is linked, the option "Equipment" will be displayed under the selected organization.
3. To access the desktop remotely, select the cloud icon.
4. A new window will display and the controller screen will appear.
💡If you are not able to see this option, it may be that the level of access in MJD needs to be updated. As long as you are a member of an organization, you may update the level of access each user has. Below is a screenshot showing for equipment the access that must be granted to use the RDA feature in TELUS Agronomy.
Boundary Import Tool
A user has the ability to import and update boundaries directly from the John Deer integration window. This allows a user to update and modify boundaries in Grower Farms and Fields along with tagging the boundary as RTK if appropriate.
To get started, navigate to Organizational Setup > Integrations > My John Deere Integration, and select your connected integration
From the left-hand side, select a Partner or Member organization to view the organizational information
You will see the section FIELDS AND BOUNDARIES and an option to View and import new fields/boundaries
4. This will give you the option to select your client from within John Deere that you would like to import boundaries from
5. Select a Grower account will give you the option to select your grower from within TELUS Agronomy that you would like to match the boundaries to.
6. This will open the boundary import window and will provide a list of all boundaries existing from within John Deere. If the field has a 85% overlap it will automatically link these boundaries as suggested imports.
7. When completed, select done
Types of Import Options
Update Boundary - if a field boundary exists that overlaps above 85% but the boundary does not match identically you can
No Matching Field Found - If John Deere does not have a boundary that exists within TELUS a user can create a new field by selecting + Create New or selecting from an existing field
Matching Field - if a field boundary has an exact matching boundary it will display the field it is currently matched with
Source File Error - Field from within John Deere does not contain a geospatial boundary or has errors blocking import
