Add/Edit Target Event
In many cases, a user will set up a target or direct sample location ahead of time online for a sampler. This guide will walk through the steps necessary to do so.
New Target Event
Select 'New Target Event' in the bottom right corner.
2. Enter a name for the Target Event.
3. If a field is not selected in Location Navigator, the system will ask for field information.
4. Click 'Next' and the page will refresh and display the Add/Edit interface.
💡Fields must have a boundary to create target events.
Add/Edit Target Event
Once a Target Event has been added, the system displays the Add/Edit Target Samples interface.
This can also be accessed from List/Map view or from a Target Event Dashboard.
From here, target samples can be drawn or edited.
The tools available are:
A. Edit Name - Click on the pencil next to the name of your target event to change it.
B. Add Sample - With this option selected, click on the map to add a sample inside the field boundary only.
C. Add Sample Grid - Use this option to create a grid layout. The grid options will be displayed on the map.
D. Import File - If you would like to upload sample points from another system, use this option. Supported files include a shapefile or a .csv that contains sample id, latitude, and longitude coordinates.
E. Edit Sample - With this option highlighted, select and drag samples to the desired position.
F. Delete Sample - Select a point to delete. The system will display a popup window to confirm.
G. Renumber Pins - This option allows you to renumber the points.
H. Target Type - Define how the target will be used.
Adding A Sample Point:
In some cases, points may need to be placed in specific areas in a field. Selecting the '+' Icon allows users to add points by clicking inside of the boundary. The numbers will start at 1 and ascend accordingly.
Adding A Sample Grid:
Add the grid by selecting the grid option on the left side panel.
Set the starting number, Grid Size(using Acres per point or manual), then click 'Draw Grid' to place a temporary grid on the field.
Creating a grid online will erase any existing target points that have been created.
3. The grid can now be adjusted by using an A/B line, rotate left or right, or nudging in any direction.
4. The A/B tool allows the user to draw a line in which the grid will snap to.
5. Once the grid is in the desired position, select 'Finish Grid' to add all target samples to the boundary.
Edit Points:
To edit a sample, select the pencil icon.
Select the point to move and drag to the new location.
Deleting a Point:
To delete a point, select the trashcan icon.
Select the point you wish to delete.
A warning will display asking if you are sure you wish to delete the sample point.
Confirm and select 'Save'.
5. When a point is deleted, the system will renumber to accommodate the change.
Renumber Points:
This tool will allow you to renumber the points. The available options will allow you to choose your starting location and which direction which numbering should continue.
Select the Renumber Pins icon to see the changes and when the points are in the correct position click 'Save'.
Upload Sample Points:
The upload option allows for a shapefile containing points to be uploaded.
Select the file upload option.
Select the file you wish to upload.
Verify the correct ID column with the file name that contains the ID column and then select 'Continue'.
Please note that the column headers for Latitude and Longitude must be short-named Lat and Lon.
5. View uploaded points and select 'Save'.
