Exporting raw data from 3rd party programs

Written by Cheryl Evans

This document will assist with exporting raw data from various 3rd Party Programs. If additional help is needed, it is always best to contact the 3rd Party Provider and inquire about exporting data in the needed format. The comments below are meant to be helpful but are directly from the 3rd Party Provider.

Exporting Raw Data from APEX

Step 1: When in APEX, select file in the top left-hand corner of the page. From the dropdown menu, select 'Unload'.

Step 2: On the left-hand side of the page under 'Task', select the 'Manage Archive' button.

Step 3: On the left-hand side of the page under 'Card Options', select the option 'Default Archive folder' from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: Select which Grower, Farm(s) and Field(s) that you would like to export the raw data for.

  • Once you select the grower, farm and field then you can select the specific files you want to export.

Step 5: Select the 'Export' button on the right-hand side of the page and it will have you select a location to export to. There will be other file types on the screen, but the file type that you are trying to export will be one that is fully colored in and the rest will be grayed out. Once a location to export the file is selected, click 'OK' and the files will be exported to the location that you chose.

Step 6: You can double check your successful export by going to were you intended to export the file and finding them there. This is where the files added to a USB drive, moved or uploaded to your NextGen account.

When uploading John Deere files to your account please remember to upload them in an unzipped folder titled 'RCD'.

Exporting Raw Data from Field View

This function is available for users that have access to Field View Plus

Step 1: When in Land View, go to 'Data Manager' and select the fields that you want to export the data from.

Step 2: When you have selected the data you want to export, in the top right corner you can select 'Actions' and then select 'Export DAT files' from the dropdown.

Step 3: You will be asked to select a location for the DAT files to be exported to and this is where the files added to a USB drive, moved or uploaded to your NextGen account.

The files can be uploaded to your NextGen account by putting all the .dat files into a folder and then uploading that folder to the uploader.
