Assessment Constraint Administration Overview

Assessment constraint administration allows you to apply constraints that determine the overall result of an assessment. The assessment outcome is based on cumulative scores from question responses, with options to use either the overall score or score deductions from specific question types.

Setting Up Constraints

In this guide, we'll set up constraints based on the overall score, where 100 represents a pass (green).

Green (Pass) Constraint

  • All TFSQ checks start at 100

  • To achieve green, no deductions can be made

  • Set constraint type to "Overall Score"

  • Set minimum and maximum score to 0

  • No corrective action is needed for a pass

Amber Constraint

  • Set the score range based on what's permissible for your assessment

  • Example: Up to 15 points can be deducted for an amber outcome

  • Set minimum score to 1

  • Set maximum score to 15

Red (Fail) Constraint

  • Set for scores indicating a fail

  • Minimum score: 16 (as 0 is green, 1-15 is amber)

  • Maximum score: 100

Adding Corrective Actions

While corrective actions are often better suited to individual questions, you can add a default corrective action for an overall red assessment. Select the most appropriate option from the dropdown list.

Example Scenario

If each amber response scores 5 points:

  • Three amber responses (15 points deducted) = Amber overall outcome

  • Four amber responses (20 points deducted) = Red overall outcome

Saving Your Constraints

After setting up each constraint, review all details for accuracy and select save.
