Why Did the Agent Process My Payment as a Money Transfer?

What to do if a Western Union agent used the wrong service type when processing your cash rent payment.

Ask the Agent to Use Pay Bills or Quick Collect Instead

Your rent payment must be processed as a Quick Collect bill payment — not a money transfer. These are two different services at Western Union, and using the wrong one means your payment will not go to your landlord.

Go back to the counter and tell the agent: "I need to make a Quick Collect bill payment, not a money transfer." They should search for DoorLoop under Pay Bills or Quick Collect and enter your account number from your CashPayments Slip.

If the agent is unsure how to do this, they can call Western Union at 1-800-325-6000 for guidance. You can also contact your property manager if the issue is not resolved.
