Overview
When you log in to your online portal to make a payment, you will see that the link starts with HTTPS and either has a green bar or lock icon in the top left of your browser’s URL bar. This means we’re using an SSL certificate to encrypt all communication in your browser. To get technical, everything you submit is encrypted both at-rest and in-transit with a 256-bit military-grade encryption. Your rent payments are also encrypted and secured with PCI compliance as you submit them directly to the credit card processor (powered by Stripe) and never pass through DoorLoop’s servers.
Security Measures Implemented by Stripe
Encryption: Stripe uses encryption to protect sensitive data during transmission, employing protocols like SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and TLS (Transport Layer Security) which combine symmetric and asymmetric encryption methods1.
Tokenization: This process replaces sensitive payment information with unique tokens, rendering the data useless if compromised.
PCI Compliance: Stripe complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent certification available in the payments industry.
SOC Reports: Stripe undergoes regular audits for SOC 1 and SOC 2 compliance, ensuring that their systems, processes, and controls meet high standards.
