Account Number
A Hong Kong bank account number isn’t just a single string of digits — it usually contains two parts:
a 3-digit branch code
followed by the account number itself
When combined, the full account number is generally 9 to 12 digits long.
For instance: 293-005005007
293 = branch code (Kowloon Main Branch)
005005007 = customer’s account number
Bank Code
The bank code is another essential piece of information. This is a three-digit identifier for the bank where the account is held. If you don’t already have the bank code from the recipient, you can quickly look it up in the list below. On desktop, use Ctrl + F (Windows) or Command + F (Mac) to find the bank name faster.
