Why the Recommended Orders Tab Matters
The Recommended Orders tab provides visibility into order creation and download behaviour across locations. It helps users analyse ordering activity, determine how often orders are being amended, and identify whether users are relying on the computer-generated recommendation or overriding it instead of correcting inputs. This tab helps users understand ordering patterns and potential planning behaviour.
Key Performance Indicators
The following KPIs appear at the top of the Recommended Orders tab for the selected location or region:
Total orders: The number of recommended orders generated by the app for the selected location or group of locations over the timeframe being viewed.
Downloaded: The count of orders being sent to the ERP system or desktop from the app.
Trend: The percentage increase or decrease over the period.
Supplier orders: The count of supplier orders being sent to the ERP system or desktop from the app.
DC orders: The count of DC orders being sent to the ERP system or desktop from the app.
Order value: The sum value of amended orders downloaded to the ERP system.
Variance: The difference between the computer-generated recommended order value and the user-amended recommended order value. A high variance value indicates that users are not accepting the original computer-generated recommendation and are instead overriding it, rather than correcting the inputs.
Understanding Graphs
There are several graphs within this tab, which are explained below.
Daily orders created (downloaded): Displays the total daily number of orders being downloaded from the app.
Daily orders by source (downloaded): Displays the total daily number of supplier orders and DC orders being downloaded from the app.
Top ordering locations (# orders placed): Displays the top locations in terms of number of orders placed by them.
Top ordering locations: Displays the top locations in order value and the ratio of computer recommended order value to the user amended order value.
Top suppliers (# orders placed): Displays the top suppliers in terms of number of orders placed against them.
Top suppliers: Displays the top suppliers in order value and the ratio of computer recommended order value to the user amended order value.
Top DCs (# orders placed): Displays the top DCs in terms of number of orders placed against them, not by them.
Top DCs: Displays the top DCs in order value and the ratio of computer recommended order value to the user amended order value.
How To Use This Tab
Navigate to the Exec Dashboard from the main menu on the left.
Click the Recommended Orders tab.
Use the filters at the top-right to customize your view:
Location Dropdown: Select "All Locations," specific physical locations, or consolidated regions.
Timeframe Dropdown: Select the amount of history you wish to display (e.g., "6 Months"). The longer the time frame, the longer the dashboard will take to load.
⚠️ Watchouts
Order variance: A large variance value suggests that users are overriding system recommended orders rather than correcting the upstream inputs that caused the recommendation.
💡 Tips
Compare amended vs recommended values: Use the variance KPI and ratio graphs to identify where users may require guidance on adjusting planning inputs.
