Quick Summary: The Supplier Urgency Rating helps you decide which suppliers to review and action first by comparing stock risk across suppliers. It is a relative prioritization signal, not a count of items, and is designed to focus planner attention where the risk and impact are highest.

What the Supplier Urgency Rating Is

The Supplier Urgency Rating is a visual indicator shown on the Orders screen.
It helps planners quickly identify which suppliers require immediate attention before reviewing individual order lines.

The rating answers one question:

β€œWhich suppliers pose the greatest inventory risk right now compared to the others?”

It does not replace line-level analysis. It helps you decide where to start.

How the Urgency Rating Is Calculated

The urgency rating is based on the relative mix of item statuses for each supplier.

The app evaluates the proportion of items supplied by that supplier that fall into the following states:

  • Stocked out

  • Potential stock out

  • OK

Suppliers with a higher proportion of critical items relative to other suppliers are assigned a higher urgency rating.

The rating is comparative. A supplier may show higher urgency even if the absolute number of critical items is small, provided the risk is higher relative to other suppliers.

What the Icons Mean

Urgency is displayed using warning indicators.

  • More warning icons indicate higher urgency.

  • Fewer or no icons indicate lower urgency.

The icons do not represent a fixed threshold or item count. They represent relative urgency across the supplier list at that point in time.

⚠️ Watchouts

  • Relative signal, not a guarantee: A supplier with low urgency may still contain a critical item that requires attention.

  • Daily movement: Urgency ratings can change from one day to the next as stock, demand, and receipts update.

πŸ’‘ Tips

  • Use urgency to structure your workflow: Start with the highest urgency suppliers, then work downward.

  • Combine with sorting: After selecting a supplier, sort order lines by value, quantity, or classification to focus on impact.
