For necessary background, please preread Mastering Regions and Region Creation Options Explained (Field Reference) before proceeding with this article.
Purpose
This guide explains how to create, configure, and maintain a region from start to finish.
It walks through every setup and management task in the order you would perform them: From creating the region to linking locations, setting forecasting modes, and maintaining the configuration over time.
Step 1: Navigate to the Region Setup Screen
In the app, expand the Settings menu and select Region Setup.
Step 2: Create a Region
From the Region Setup screen, click Add Region.
Complete the required setup fields as described in Region Creation Options Explained (Field Reference).
Click Create Region.
Once saved, the region will appear on the Region Setup screen visual.
Step 3: Link Locations (or Other Regions)
Click the newly created region on the Region Setup screen visual.
Use the Available locations panel to locate and link the appropriate locations.
To unlink a location, click the X symbol next to it.
(Optional) Regions can also be linked to other regions if you need a multi-level hierarchy.
Step 4: Set a Primary Location
Within the list of linked locations, click the star symbol beside the branch you want to assign as the primary location.
The primary location will display a red line indicator.
The supplier and key policy settings from this location will now govern the region.

Step 5: Obtain a List of Regions
Navigate to Locations on the main menu.
In the upper-right corner, select the Region Level you would like to display.
• Base locations are Level 0.
• Anything higher than zero represents a region. You can edit the region, view the region dashboard, set classifications or forecast by using the options to the right.
Step 6: Configure the Region
From the Location screen, select the region you want to configure.
Use the options on the right-hand panel to:
• Edit the region.
• View the region dashboard.
• Set classifications.
• View and/or adjust forecasts.
Configuration ensures that the region has the correct policies and managed forecasts.
The region functions as a virtual location, and must be configured and maintained in the same way as a real location.
Step 7: Choose the Regional Forecasting Mode
From the Location screen, select the region you want to configure, and click Edit.
Choose one of the following modes:
Consolidate Forecasts Into This Region: The region forecast is the sum of all linked locations.
Disaggregate Forecasts From This Region: Forecasts are calculated at the region level and split back to locations.
Neither: Forecasts are recalculated only at the region and not split down.

Click Update when done.
Step 8: Maintain a Region
From the Location screen, open the relevant region.
Click the pencil icon to edit editable fields such as:
Currency
Export location code
Distribution center vendor code
Allow order creation
Set region to inactive
Fields such as Region Level or Code are locked after creation. Changing them will require deleting and recreating the region. This, however, will remove all dashboard history of the region.
➜ For more on this topic, read: Region Creation Options Explained (Field Reference).
Step 9: Delete a Region
Navigate to the Region Setup screen
To delete the entire region or remove a linked location, click the minus symbol (–) to the right of the element.
Deleted elements are permanently removed at the next full data refresh.
Always confirm that the correct region or location is selected before deletion, as this action cannot be undone.
⚠️ Watchouts
Locked Fields: The region level and code cannot be changed after creation. Re-creating the region will erase all dashboard history.
Forecast Conflicts: Consolidate and Disaggregate Forecasts cannot both be selected.
Primary Location: If the primary location lacks an item or is obsolete, the region will calculate its own policies.
💡 Tips
Plan Levels Ahead: Leave numeric gaps between level numbers for future hierarchy changes.
Validate Forecast Mode: Review the chosen forecasting mode whenever locations are added or removed.
Back Up Before Deletion: Export the list of regions before making deletions for auditing.
